We fight for unity, push one another to grow in Christ, seek out the forgotten and the broken, and believe in the shared responsibility of raising the next generation.
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20).
The mission of the church is not to build buildings but to reach people. The widows, orphans, forgotten, hopeless and broken, each of these and all us are all in need of something greater. This something cannot be earned but accepted.
The mission of the early Church was to make Jesus known by utilizing the same methods and practices He did. To love people and share the glorious hope of heaven, a priceless inheritance, with anyone with ears to hear. So they too, can have the opportunity to accept the free gift of grace that is available to them. (Romans 6:23)
At Discovery Church, our mission, Christ's mission, has been the same since we launched in 2009. We are willing to do anything short of sin in order "to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ." We do this by utilizing a three-fold strategy: discover, develop, deploy.
We want people to discover a lasting relationship with God and last relationship with believers. We want to develop people's gifts and God given potential for strategic ministry. And we want to deploy people out into the world.
We believe this is the methods and practices Jesus used to teach His disciples and instructed them to imitate after leaving them here on earth. We are confident in our beliefs and to what God has called us to do.
