Our story is different than most other churches. With a young Pastor, no supporting church, and no money we launched Sunday, April 5th, 2009. It was a huge leap of faith! We have seen Him do incredible things on the Treasure Coast through the life of Discovery Church. We have seen many lives changed. But we believe it is time for us to take another leap of faith. We are in need of a new home. It is time for the next chapter for Discovery.Give to the Next Chapter
On March 15th we host a Steak Dinner and Auction and it was a huge success!
Many of you who have been following the story of the Next Chapter of Discovery Church attended the event so we would like to thank you! We raised $8000 that night and someone stepped up in a big way the following Sunday and donated a $1000 toward the Next Chapter!
God is on the move!
On January 30th, 2019 the team traveled to the title office in Vero Beach and signed the paperwork necessary for the property to officially be Discovery's.
On February 4th, 2019 the City of Fort Pierce hosted a second and final City Commission meeting concerning Discovery Church. There were no questions or concerns. It was a unanimous approval for the major amendment and site plan.
Discovery Church officially owns and will building our future home at 4431 South 25th Street Fort Pierce, FL #WeAreDiscovery
We have been able to chip away at our total need once again bring our total need from $162,500 to $157,000!
We have also put together a 3D walkthrough video of what the future home of Discovery may look like!
We continue to move forward and are blown away by how God has provided so far! Through the faithfulness of His people we have raised $18,500 to date! Bringing our need of $181,000 to $162,500.
We have also received the footprint and rough layout of what our future home might look like.
We have submitted rough plans to the architects and have begun receiving rough numbers back from contractors and steel manufacturing facilities and we are in need of more capital.
We knew from the start we would need more resources in order to complete this project and fulfill the vision for future home of Discovery that has been laid on the hearts of the team. So we are asking for the help of the people. We are asking for your help.
Pastor Tim announced on Sunday October 7th we need $181,000 more dollars for the next chapter of Discovery.
We hosted our first fundraising effort for the future home of Discovery and it was a wild success!
We hosted a golf tournament at Gator Trace Golf Course and had over 56 golfers play. Numerous local business supported this tournament and it would not have been possible without them. We raised $7600 dollars toward the next chapter of Discovery!
After much searching and prayer Pastor Tim and the Staff believe they have found the right piece of property for the future home of Discovery. But we needed more capital so we filed for a loan through the Florida Baptist Convention for $625,000 and we were approved!
We have approached the land owner and they have approved our offer on the property under the condition the rezoning goes through.
God moved in the hearts of His people we exceeded our goal of $25,000 dollars and raised $27,000 for the next chapter of Discovery Church!
Once the "Two Fifty Challenge" was completed we were called as a church to wait and be patient on God to give pastor Tim and the Staff of Discovery Church clarity as to where the future home of Discovery would be.
God has been faithful in the past and will continue to be in the future. We launched our biggest fundraising effort in the history of Discovery, the "Two Fifty Challenge," in preparation of what God has in store for us.
The "Two Fifty Challenge" was simple. We had a big goal of $25,000, because we serve a big God! There were two hundred and fifty empty chairs being sold in increments of $100. Each chair represented a lost person. We pray that the lost will be found as we live out Luke 19:10. The funds received from the "Two Fifty Challenge" will be used to build-out the future home of Discovery Church.
We are thankful for the past four and half years at Savanna Ridge; however, we are ready for the next chapter in the life of Discovery.
The time is now. We desire a facility to serve our community better, invest in current leaders, raise up new leaders, and continue to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus!
We have an incredible relationship with the staff and students and look forward to growing this partnership as we continue to serve them through our mentorship program, Grace Pack program, and social events.
Three years later, we were at full capacity and comfortable at The Refuge. But Tim knew it was time for yet another change in location and God once again answered this prayer, this time with Savanna Ridge Elementary School.
Ten months later, we were forced to believe God again for another location due to zoning issues, and again He provided a place we called The Refuge.
We Turned 3,400 square feet of offices in Kings Plaza into a church and community center. As we grew we added 800 square feet for additional children’s ministry space as well as 800 square feet for a coffee shop.
God Immediately answered with a location and by His grace we launched at St. Lucie West k-8 School. One month later the rent increased nearly 65% and we were forced to trust God for another location in which he proved the Treasure Coast Christian Academy
With no building, no sponsoring church or denomination, no money, no equipment, a small team, Tim's young age inexperience, and lack of education the planting team set the launch date for April 5th 2009.
Our Story began in late 2008 when Pastor Tim O'Carroll finally surrendered to God's call to join the movement that Jesus had begun over 2000 years ago called the church.
A small group of eight people began meeting in a home on Sunday evenings to pray, study God's Word, lay the foundation, and plan the launch of Discovery Church.
